Wild with Pride: Missouri State University Homecoming, October 26 - 27Calling all Missouri State alumni! You are invited to join us for a walk on the wild side during Missouri State Homecoming 2007…where we’re Wild with Pride! Deep in the jungle of the Missouri State campus, Bear Pride is alive and stronger than ever! Alumni near and far are donning their maroon and white and answering the call of the wild. Attend a weekend full of events that will renew your Bear Spirit. Traditional events include the Best Bears Alumni Dinner and Awards Ceremony, Walk on the Wild Side Parade, BearFest Village Safari, Big Game Reserve Football Game, Fifth Quarter Adventure featuring the crowning of royalty and high-energy Frisbee Dog action. Plus many more special reunion gatherings are waiting for you! Check out the list of Homecoming Events today. We hope to see you there!

Community invited to participate in Homecoming parade
The Springfield community is invited to participate in Missouri State University’s Homecoming parade on October 27. All entries should incorporate this year’s theme, “Missouri State Wild with Pride Homecoming.” A plaque will be awarded to the top three overall non-university entries. Read more...

Missouri State University System enrollment exceeds 21,000 for first time
Incoming Springfield campus freshmen set new ACT record
Students officially enrolled in the Missouri State System this fall total 21,407, an increase from last year’s total of 20,962. The total sets a new system enrollment record for the university. Read more…

Missouri Fine Arts Academy seeks student nominations
Missouri’s public school districts and private high schools have a unique opportunity to support their artistically talented students by nominating them to participate in the Missouri Fine Arts Academy (MFAA). Student nomination forms are available online for all Missouri high school districts. Nominations are due in mid-November. Read more…

Missouri State University presents Hispanic Heritage Month
Missouri State University’s celebration of Hispanic Heritage Month continues through October 15. The theme for this year’s celebration is “Discovering the History of Our Diverse Roots.” The office of multicultural student services is hosting numerous events for persons interested in learning more about Hispanic culture and customs. Family Weekend is scheduled for October 5-6, 2007 and many exciting Family Weekend events are planned for parents to experience both our wonderful campus and the Springfield community. Events include the First Friday Artwalk, theater, a golf tournament, tours, meeting administrators, Bears Football and much more. Family members attending the Family Weekend Brunch Reception will have the opportunity to enter a drawing for a free semester's worth of books courtesy of the Missouri State Bookstore! Student callers from the Missouri State Phone Campaign will be on hand to personally thank parents for their support of the Parents’ Fund that benefits Meyer Library. We hope to see you there! Missouri State University presents 'Ethics Across the Curriculum'
Missouri State University will present the 2007-2008 Public Affairs Convocation Series, “Ethics Across the Curriculum.” Nationally recognized experts in business ethics, media ethics, sport ethics, medical ethics and environmental ethics will discuss the importance of ethics and ethical decision-making in their fields. Greenwood is celebrating a century!
Greenwood Laboratory School logo Alumni, parents, grandparents, friends, faculty, former student teachers and staff are invited to celebrate 100 years of excellence throughout the 2007-08 school year. Greenwood Homecoming 2007, scheduled for October 5, 6 & 7, serves as the official centennial kickoff. All of the traditional events will occur, along with the Athletics Banner Unveiling Ceremony, Celebrating a Century Photograph, and Rock, Stroll and Remember-The Greenwood Homecoming Party of the Century!

Linnens sets school record, finishes third in Cardinal Cup
Missouri State senior Missy Linnens broke her own 54-hole scoring record by shooting a one-over 217 to finish third at the Napa River Grill Cardinal Cup on the par-72, 6,181-yard Cardinal Club Golf Course in Simpsonville, Kentucky.
