Alumni Association to honor seven at annual Homecoming dinner
Seven individuals will be honored by the Missouri State University Alumni Association at the Best Bears Alumni Dinner and Awards Ceremony on Friday, October 26. Award recipients in four categories will be recognized for their exceptional achievements and loyalty to the University. This year’s recipients include Dr. Nancy L. Curry, John E. Patton, Dr. Dennis W. Smith, Jr., ’88, Edward D. Chapin, ’64, David L. Lenox, ’83, Alex N. Paradowski, ’72, and Kenneth E. Meyer, ’50. Read more...
New projects announced as corporate partners move in to JVIC
Construction is complete on the corporate floors of Missouri State University’s Roy Blunt Jordan Valley Innovation Center (JVIC). Six of JVIC’s corporate partners – Applied Systems Intelligence, Brewer Science, Crosslink, Nantero, St. John’s Health System and Unidym – are now either already operating within the facility or moving into new state-of-the-art laboratories. Gordon McCann pledges collection to Missouri State University
Four decades of material will be housed in Meyer Library
At a September 14 concert at Juanita K. Hammons Hall for the Performing Arts, Springfield native Gordon McCann announced that he “can find no better place” for his collection of “music and folklife material” than the special collections and archives department of the Duane G. Meyer Library on the campus of Missouri State University. Read more…
Phase II completion celebrated at Darr Agricultural CenterBill and Virginia Darr pledge gift for Phase III construction
Friends and supporters of Missouri State University’s William H. Darr Agricultural Center gathered at the 90-acre site in southwest Springfield on October 12 to celebrate the completion of Phase II construction. Anson Elliott to receive first Greg Onstot Outstanding Achievement Award
Dr. Anson Elliott, agriculture department head at Missouri State University, will receive the first Greg Onstot Outstanding Achievement Award. The award, which includes a plaque and $1,200, will be presented to Elliott during ceremonies at the Missouri State Homecoming dinner October 26 at the University Plaza Hotel. Read more…

Missouri State Ice Bears – Alumni discount offered
Alumni have the opportunity to purchase reserved or general admission tickets for $3 each (regularly priced $6 and $5). This special offer is valid for the Missouri State Ice Bears vs. Minnesota State-Mankato game on Saturday, November 17 at the Jordan Valley Ice Park at 7:00 p.m. Mention that you are a Missouri State graduate to receive the special price when purchasing tickets in person at a Missouri State ticket box office, by phone at 417-836-7678 or 1-888-476-7849 (toll free), or at the rink on game day.
