Fourth annual Public Affairs Conference focuses on finding solutions

Veterans featured in Burns documentary among featured speakers
Missouri State University, along with presenting sponsor The Springfield News-Leader, will host the fourth annual Public Affairs Conference, themed “Seeking Solutions: Conflict, Violence and the Courage to Change.” The event will be held April 15-18 and will bring a variety of speakers from around the world to the Springfield campus. Missouri State assistant professor of management serves as editor in chief
Dr. Benjamin Goss, assistant professor of management at Missouri State University; and Dr. Colby Jubenville, associate professor of sport management at Middle Tennessee State University, founded and launched a new online, open-access resource – the Journal of Sport Administration and Supervision. Fee increase keeps university costs below national average
The Missouri State University Board of Governors approved an increase in its basic fees (tuition) from $179 to $186 per credit hour for its undergraduate resident students, an amount consistent with the inflation rate. “Missouri State University has made a commitment to providing a high-quality college education at an affordable price,” said Missouri State President Michael T. Highlighting the interdependence with local communities and saying “thank you” for past support are the two major goals for the first Missouri State University Community Caravan, which will focus on eight locations in the first three weeks of April. Cuonzo Martin hired as new Bears basketball coach
Cuonzo (CON-zoe) Martin, Associate Head Coach at Purdue University, has been hired as the new Bears basketball coach at Missouri State University.  Martin will begin his duties April 1. Martin becomes the 16th head coach in the history of Missouri State, the 27th winningest NCAA Division I program in America.  Read more...

Baseball Bears steal win at Southeast Missouri
The Missouri State baseball team trailed by a run on three different occasions and rallied to score two runs in the ninth inning to complete a 7-6 comeback victory over Southeast Missouri State Wednesday afternoon at Capaha Field in Cape Girardeau, Missouri. Read more...

Softball Bears lose Doubleheader at Kansas

Men's golf team places fifth at UALR/First Tee Collegiate
The Missouri State men’s golf team wrapped up a fifth-place finish at the UALR/First Tee Collegiate at the par-72, 7,221-yard Chenal Country Club in Little Rock, Arkansas. Sophomore Jay McBride led the way for MSU, firing a final round 73 to finish tied for eighth overall.  Read more...
