Homecoming 2008 – October 10 & 11
The Missouri State University campus is great for growing the stuff that legends are made of...and they walk among us! Come back and see what has evolved from your legacy and how current students are becoming the legends of tomorrow. All of the traditional events are planned: the Homecoming Dinner & Awards Ceremony, the Homecoming Parade, BearFest Village and the Football Game. Many other special reunions, gatherings and special events are scheduled to welcome you back to the place where being a Bear became part of your character. 50 Year Reunion slated for Class of 1958
Congratulations to the Class of 1958 in celebration of your Golden Anniversary! Plan to join fellow classmates for this exciting reunion. Missouri State Students Perform on America's Got Talent
The Cadence, a percussion group that includes Missouri State students and alumni, performed on the TV show America's Got Talent on Tuesday July 29th. The group earned a spot in the next round and will appear on the Tuesday, August 26 episode airing at 7:00 p.m. (cst). Show your support by watching the episode and then casting your vote. Back-to-school grants help students complete degrees
Want to return to Missouri State University to finish that degree but need some financial help? This fall, Missouri State University is offering a one-time grant to help get eligible students into a cap and gown. Read more...
Missouri State University introduces classes for ‘baby boomers'
Missouri State University’s Jim D. Morris Center for Continuing Education will soon launch a series of classes designed specifically for the over-50 population who are commonly referred to as the baby boomer generation. Dubbed “Boomer U,” this new program is open to the general public and will offer short courses focusing on areas of interest to people who have either retired or are approaching retirement. Student Engineering finishes top 6 in international competition
Student Engineering of Missouri State University finished sixth at the Marine Advanced Technology Education (MATE) Center’s Remote Operated Vehicle (ROV) competition recently held in San Diego. The Missouri State team created a robot vehicle which was able to complete all of the missions for the competition in the allowed time. Read more…
Faculty recognized at annual awards luncheon
Twenty retiring faculty honored
Missouri State University recognized the significant accomplishments of faculty in the areas of teaching, research and service during its annual faculty luncheon on August 21. In addition, two faculty members received the Excellence in Community Service Award in acknowledgment of their commitment to volunteer work in the community. Read more…
Missouri State receives ‘Best in the Midwest' designation
Missouri State University was selected for inclusion in The Princeton Review's 2009 online list of "Best Colleges: Region by Region." Missouri State is one of 159 schools on the site receiving the Best in the Midwest designation and has been included on this list since its inception six years ago. Read more…
Missouri State University Phone Campaign to begin calling soon
Missouri State students working their way through college, will be calling alumni to update addresses, gather e-mail addresses, and provide updates on the six academic colleges and departments while seeking support for the University. Private support is essential to accomplishing the long-range goals of the University. We hope you renew your support or consider making a gift for the first time. Every gift makes a difference in students’ lives, no matter the size.
