JQH ribbon cutting ceremony

The ceremonial ribbon cutting for Missouri State’s new $67 million basketball facility, JQH Arena, was held at the grand entrance to the building at 4 p.m. on October 24.
The ceremonial ribbon cutting for Missouri State’s new $67 million basketball facility, JQH Arena, was held at the grand entrance to the building at 4 p.m. on October 24. The ceremony also included the official key transfer from the project’s construction management company, J.E. Dunn and Associates, to Missouri State University officials, marking the substantial completion of the Arena. Final touches of the construction phase will be completed over the next few months. “This is a day we have anxiously awaited since the beginning of this project,” said Missouri State Director of Athletics Bill Rowe. “Missouri State is very excited to be transitioning from the construction phase to the preparation phase for our upcoming events. It has taken many months of hard work and dedication by literally hundreds of workers to reach this pivotal juncture, and the university is grateful for their efforts and the product they are turning over to us.”

Missouri State students recognized as citizen scholars
In keeping with Missouri State University’s statewide mission in public affairs, the university’s curriculum is designed to teach students to be responsible citizens and leaders. Missouri State University Board of Governors fills all nine seats
For the first time in its history, Missouri State University had nine voting Board of Governors in attendance at its regular meeting October 10. Missouri State University Students in Free Enterprise (SIFE) is one of 45 teams selected to participate in the Goldman Sachs Capital Markets Program. The Goldman Sachs Foundation is funding a Capital Markets Program that will train SIFE teams in China, France and the United States to teach concepts related to capital markets and capital formation to high school students in their local communities. Montana WellmanThe Missouri State men’s swimming and diving team moved to 2-0 in dual meets for the 2008-09 season, beating Evansville 60-32. On the women’s side, the meet held in Evansville, Indiana on Friday, October 24 was a double dual event. The Bears faced Valley conference competitors Evansville and Illinois State.
