Missouri State News
Proud fans and students poured through JQH Arena with pure excitement and delight as a new era of Bears and Lady Bears basketball began November 22 and 23. Basketball game attendees explored the new JQH Arena from the beautiful grand entrance, through the spectacularly chronicled Legacy of Competition and Hall of Fame, around the expansive concourse and into the maroon seats from which they cheered both the Bears and Lady Bears to victory in the first contests held in the newest state of the art building on the Missouri State campus. Dedication ceremonies held before each game recognized those who contributed toward the creation and completion of this facility, named for John Q. Hammons in recognition of his $30 million gift. The facility has more than 11,000 seats, 24 private suites, more than 100 loge seats, 55 courtside seats, a team souvenir store and a ticket office.
