Students receive 1,393 degrees during fall commencement
Turner Family of Springfield receives Bronze Bear Award
Students receive degrees during Missouri State commencement.Missouri State University conferred 1,393 degrees to students during commencement ceremonies December 19 at JQH Arena. Degrees in the College of Business Administration and College of Education were given out at 12:30 p.m. Degrees in the colleges of Arts and Letters, Health and Human Services, Natural and Applied Sciences and Humanities and Public Affairs were given out at 4 p.m. During the 12:30 p.m. ceremony, The Turner family received the 2008 Bronze Bear Award in recognition of their multi-generational involvement with Missouri State. Student team named overall outstanding delegation
The Missouri State University World Affairs Council was named the overall outstanding delegation at the American Model United Nations International Conference in Chicago on Nov. 21-25. The overall outstanding delegation award is the highest honor a delegation can receive at the conference. Read more…

Danny Arnold named College of Business Administration dean
Dr. Danny Arnold has been named the new dean of the College of Business Administration (COBA) at Missouri State University. He will begin his duties on April 1, pending approval from the Missouri State Board of Governors. He succeeds Dr. Ron Bottin, who is retiring after 18 years as COBA’s leader. Read more...

  • You may make your gift online at www.missouristate.edu/giving.  It’s a quick, easy and secure way to make your gift! You may designate your gift to any area that you choose. Now more than ever, Missouri State students need your support!
  • The Missouri State University Foundation offices will be closed for the holidays from Wednesday, December 24th, 2008 until January 5, 2009.
  • Please make your year-end gifts early this year, especially if they involve stock transfers.
  • Checks that are received in the mail by January 5, 2009 that have December postmarks will be handled as a 2008 gift. Checks delivered in person in January will be recorded as 2009 gifts.

Bears Devour Anteaters Down Stretch in 57-48 Win at JQH
Missouri State (7-3) outscored visiting UC Irvine 15-8 in the final 5:20 and made 10 three-pointers to hold off the Anteaters, 57-48, at JQH Arena in the second day of the Basketball Travelers Tip-Off Tourney. Read more...

Lady Bears Top Chattanooga, 77-68, for Third Straight WinCasey Garrison, freshman guard
The Missouri State Lady Bears picked up their third consecutive victory with a 77-68 win over the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga to wrap up their stay at the Caribbean Classic and close out the non-conference portion of their schedule. Read more...

Men's and Women's Swimming and Diving Capture Third Invitational Title
The Missouri State men’s and women’s swim teams finished first at the Delta State Invitational. Each squad captured its third invitational title of the 2008-09 season. The men placed on top with 938 points, finishing ahead of Tampa, New Orleans and Delta State. The Bears' women scored 970 points to place in front of Tampa, New Orleans, Delta State and Arkansas-Little Rock. Read more...

Volleyball Bears Drop NCAA First Round Match to UAB, 3-0
The Missouri State volleyball team had its fourth consecutive NCAA Tournament appearance ended in the first round by the University of Alabama at Birmingham by scores of 25-17, 25-21 and 25-17 at the NU Coliseum in Lincoln, Nebraska. Read more...

Kirby Named Coors Player of the Year at Annual Football BanquetCody Kirby named 2008 Missouri State Coors Player of the Year.
Cody Kirby was named the 2008 Missouri State Coors Player of the Year, at the annual Missouri State University Football Banquet, held at Plaster Student Union. The Coors Player of the Year Award, voted on by area media, was presented along with a number of other awards at the event. Read more…

Twenty-Nine Current and Former Student-Athletes Receive Degrees
Missouri State University conferred 29 degrees to current and former student-athletes during commencement ceremonies on December 19, 2008. Eight of the graduates received scholastic honors, including one summa cum laude graduate, two magna cum laude honorees, and five cum laude graduates. Read more…
