Students place at national horse competition
Missouri State University students Valerie Craft and Jenny Ford placed at the Intercollegiate Horse Show Association National Championship recently held in Murfreesboro, Tennessee. Craft, a senior animal science major, competed in the rail and reining phases of the American Quarter Horse Association Cup competition and was awarded ninth place. Read more…

Fundraising efforts, practices receive national recognition 
Circle of Excellence program honors exemplary advancement programsMissouri State University--2009 CASE Circle of Excellence Awards Recipient--Superior Fundraising Program
Based on its fundraising success over the past year, Missouri State University has won the 2009 CASE-WealthEngine Award for educational fundraising. The award honors “superior fundraising programs” across the country as part of CASE’s (Council for the Advancement and Support of Education) Circle of Excellence program. Read more…

Missouri Innovation Academy products combine business, technology
The Missouri Innovation Academy, a three-week residential academy held at Missouri State University, is designed to give high school students the opportunity and tools to become knowledgeable, successful and excited about innovative technology, research, business and career opportunities in math, engineering, technology and science. At Missouri State University's June 19 Board of Governors meeting, students shared information about the products they are creating. Among the products are a collapsible lantern, ambient light sensor and an iPhone app to turn appliances on and off. Read more…

Kyle Moats, Director of Athletics at Missouri State UniversityMoats named new director of athletics at Missouri State University
Missouri State University’s search for its new director of athletics has concluded with the introduction of Kyle Moats as the University’s 10th AD. Moats previously served as the associate athletics director for national marketing at the University of Louisville. Moats is expected to begin his duties at Missouri State on July 1. Read more…

University seeks nominations for honorary doctorate
Missouri State University is seeking nominations for the university’s annual honorary doctorate. In 2002, the Board of Governors approved a policy authorizing the granting of an honorary doctorate degree recognizing the extraordinary achievements of distinguished citizens. Any member of the Missouri State University community, including alumni, may nominate candidates for the degree. The deadline for receiving nominations is September 30, 2009. Read more…

Neosha Mackey, Dean of University LibrariesNeosha Mackey named dean of university libraries
Neosha A. Mackey has been named the dean of university libraries at Missouri State University. She will begin her duties July 1, pending approval of the Missouri State Board of Governors. Mackey assumes the role after serving as the associate dean of library services since 1987. She also served as acting dean from 1993–95. Read more…

Rowe named as a NACDA/Under Armour A.D. of the Year
Missouri State Director of Athletics Bill Rowe was announced today as one of 29 winners of the Under Armour AD of the Year Award, presented by the National Association of Collegiate Directors of Athletics (NACDA). Rowe is the Division I FCS Central Region AD of the Year. Read more…

MSU Baseball playerSix total Baseball Bears selected as MLB Draft concludes
The 2009 Major League Baseball First-Year Player Draft has concluded and MSU junior catcher Dallas Hord was the lone Bear picked in the final day, going to Florida in the 32nd round. In all, six players on the 2009 roster were chosen. Read more…

Terry PhillipsPhillips places 20th in the steeplechase at the NCAA Championship
After a weather delay, the first day of competition was completed at John McDonnell Field in Fayetteville, Arkansas.  Missouri State sophomore Terry Phillips ran a time of 10:29.16 to finish 20th in the 3,000-meter steeplechase at the NCAA Division I Outdoor Track and Field Championship.
