Third Annual Public Affairs ConferencePublic Affairs Conference 2007 -- One World, Many Voices
Missouri State University is pleased to invite the public to its third annual Public Affairs Conference Tuesday, April 17, 2007 through Friday, April 20, 2007. Missouri State students donate spring break to Katrina relief program
For some Missouri State University students, spring break this year meant heading south, but not to the beach. Approximately 50 students traveled to Bogalusa, Louisiana to help build houses for the victims of hurricane Katrina as part of Katrina Relief 2007. Read more...

Missouri State a cappella groups turn heads
Over the past few years, a cappella groups at Missouri State University have victoriously had their voices heard. A Cub Bella, the most successful Missouri State a cappella group, recently made it through the quarterfinals of the International Championship of Collegiate A Cappella (ICCA) and will move on to the semifinals in Chicago later this month. Record $6.2 million research grant to fund 'revolutionary' technology
Micro gold-polymer bridge platform for advanced sensor technologyScientists, students to develop carbon-based components to aid satellite operations
Dr. Ryan Giedd, executive director of Missouri State University’s Roy Blunt Jordan Valley Innovation Center (JVIC), and JVIC corporate partners Nantero Inc. (Woburn, Mass.) and Carbon Nanotechnologies Inc. (Houston, Texas) have been awarded a $6.2 million grant from the Office of Naval Research (ONR) to develop carbon-based satellite components – high-speed processing and control elements, specifically – that will be able to withstand the damaging threats of space, primarily electro-magnetic pulses, solar flares and cosmic radiation.  Read more…

The Shoulders on Which We Stand exhibit picture--young ladies sitting on a ledge. Featuring 1940s era photos of former Missouri State University students, faculty and staff, this display captures distinct moments and documents the evolution of the University. Board approves lowest fee increase in seven years
Missouri State Promise Scholarship will help Missouri's neediest student attend college
The Missouri State University Board of Governors approved an increase in its basic fees (tuition) from $173 to $179 per credit hour for its undergraduate resident students, an increase that is approximately the same as inflation and is the lowest increase in seven years.  Read more…

Conference explores foreign policy, Middle East and Islamic culture
Speakers from around the world will gather April 2 at Missouri State University’s Plaster Student Union (PSU) Theater to begin a two-day conference addressing America, Islam and the Middle East. The conference will include sessions on the Arab-Israeli conflict, the war in Iraq, the war on international terrorism, faith-based peace perspectives, genocide in Darfur, the United States foreign policy in regards to the Middle East and the prospects of a transition to democracy in the region.  Read more…

Baseball takes series with 12-7 win over Northern IowaTanner Mattson had three hits and scored twice.
The Missouri State baseball team jumped out to an 11-1 lead and hung on for a 12-7 win against visiting Northern Iowa Sunday afternoon at Hammons Field in Springfield. Read more…

Michelle Armentrout singled and scored in game two of the doubleheader.Softball splits with BradleyBradley scored a second-inning run for the only tally of game one as the Braves defeated the Missouri State softball team, 1-0, in the series opener, but the Bears responded with a three-run second inning in game two to salvage the doubleheader split, winning the nightcap, 3-1, Sunday in Peoria, Illinois.  Read more...

Bears Place Second at 2007 MVC Swimming and Diving ChampionshipAllison Zeller took home gold in the 200 yard backstroke.The Missouri State women's swimming and diving team finished second to host Southern Illinois at the 2007 Missouri Valley Conference Swimming and Diving Championship after claiming four-straight titles from 2003-06.  Read more...

The Missouri State track and field team opened its 2007 outdoor season Saturday in Carbondale, Ill. The Bears turned in some outstanding performances at the SIU Spring Classic, including four first-place wins.  Read more...

Plaster Student Union Brick Bear Paths.  Everyone is welcome to add to the journey of the Bear Paths through a gift of $125.  Honor a graduate, your favorite professor or celebrate a special occasion – it's your choice!  Bricks must be paid in full by April 1, 2007 to be installed in May.
