Five honored by Missouri State Alumni Association
The Missouri State Alumni Association honored five Missouri State alumni and former faculty members: Dr. Robert Bradley, Dr. Russell Keeling, John Eilermann Jr., Virginia Fry and James Wachtman.
The Missouri State University Alumni Association began this year's Homecoming weekend by honoring five Missouri State alumni and former faculty members during the Homecoming Dinner and Awards Ceremony on October 27 at University Plaza Hotel. This year, the Alumni Association honored these distinguished individuals: Dr. Robert Bradley, Dr. Russell Keeling, John Eilermann Jr., Virginia Fry and James Wachtman. Read more....

Thomas G. Strong has been selected to receive the Bronze Bear Award. Tom Strong to receive Bronze Bear Award
Missouri State University alumnus and nationally-known attorney Thomas G. Strong has been selected to receive the Bronze Bear Award. Strong, founder and managing partner of The Strong Law Firm, will be the seventh recipient of the award, which is presented to those who have exhibited “extraordinary achievement and/or outstanding support" for Missouri State. Missouri State receives national recognition for hurricane relief efforts
Missouri State University was named to the first President's Higher Education Community Service Honor Roll for distinguished community service in recognition of extraordinary volunteer efforts by the school and its students to serve area neighborhoods and Gulf Coast communities devastated by Hurricane Katrina. Princeton Review lists Missouri State as one of 282 'Best Business Schools'
Missouri State University is an outstanding business school, according to The Princeton Review. The New York-based education services company features the university in the just-published 2007 edition of its "Best 282 Business Schools." Read more…

Missouri Archaeological Society moves headquarters to Missouri State
The Board of Directors of the Missouri Archaeological Society (MAS) approved the move of its headquarters to Missouri State University from the University of Missouri, where it was established in 1931. The move, which was approved October 15, is expected to substantially increase the visibility of Missouri State with respect to archaeology at the state and national levels. Read more...

Monthly Hemingway's Luncheons set for Missouri State Basketball
Missouri State Athletics logoBasketball fans in the Springfield area will have an opportunity to learn about Missouri State basketball this season from the Bears and Lady Bears head coaches at the 2006-07 Hemingway's Missouri State Basketball Luncheons. Remaining dates for the Lady Bears' luncheons are December 12, January 16 and February 13. Remaining dates for the Bears' luncheons are December 13, January 17 and February 7. The men's December 13 luncheon will be in the White River Room and all other luncheons will be in Uncle Buck's Auditorium. Cost of each luncheon is $8.00 per person for the buffet meal and all luncheons begin at 12 noon.

 

Athletics updates available while website under construction
Missouri State Athletics is in the process of building a new permanent web site. The temporary site offers some basic content for each sport at missouristatebears.com.

Listen to Bears games LIVE via the web
Thanks to Meyer Communications, KTXR 101.3 FM - The Gentle Giant, Computerland, and Missouri State University, you can now hear every minute of exciting action of Missouri State Bears basketball and Lady Bears basketball. If you reside in Southwest Missouri, your best bet to hear the games is to tune your FM radio to the Bears at FM 101.3. However, if you are out of the listening area, and you have a sound card on your computer and a connection to the Internet, you can hear the games on the Web at ktxrfm.com.
